Join us for an exclusive one-day educational event designed for horse owners who want to gain a deeper understanding of modern hoof care.
Throughout the day, you'll see how experienced practitioners assess the whole horse before making informed trimming and shoeing decisions. Using live horses (which 3 participants have the opportunity to bring) we'll demonstrate how conformation, movement, hoof balance and biomechanics all influence the approach taken to each individual horse.
This is not a trimming clinic. It is a unique opportunity to understand the thought process behind modern farriery.
Registered Farrier, qualified barefoot trimmer and certified lameness specialist, with more than 50 years' experience in farriery and hoof care.
Highly respected farrier, recipient of the British Empire Medal for services to farriery, International Farriery Hall of Fame inductee and internationally recognised laminitis specialist.
Respected farrier and thermal imaging diagnostic expert, bringing valuable insight into hoof function and assessment.
Together, they will assess horses throughout the day, discussing their observations, sharing their knowledge and explaining the reasoning behind every recommendation.
Using live horses, we'll work through the complete assessment process, including:
You'll gain a unique insight into how experienced professionals analyse each horse before deciding on the most appropriate course of action.

Following six years in the Household Cavalry, he went on to establish his own practice in Kent and has since shod and taught throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East and the USA.
Known for his progressive approach, Clive combines traditional craftsmanship with modern scientific understanding, continually refining his methods as new research and techniques emerge. He believes every horse should be assessed as an individual and that the best hoof care decisions come from careful observation, sound biomechanics and practical experience.
Inspired by clients who encouraged him to share his knowledge more widely,
Clive founded Hoof Mastery to make modern hoof care education accessible, practical and easy to understand for horse owners and equine professionals alike.
