MEET CLIVE

Clive has devoted more than 50 years to the study and practice of farriery and hoof care. His journey began with six years of service in the Household Cavalry, where he learned his craft under the skilled guidance of the late David "Slim" Symmons, developing the precision, discipline and attention to detail that have remained the foundation of his work ever since.

Following his military service, Clive established his own farriery practice and has spent decades working with horses across a wide range of disciplines. A Registered Farrier, qualified barefoot trimmer and certified lameness specialist, he has also shod and taught throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East and the USA.

Clive believes that the best hoof care is achieved by combining time-honoured craftsmanship with a modern, evidence-based approach.

Every horse is assessed as an individual, with careful consideration given to conformation, movement, biomechanics and hoof balance before any trimming or shoeing decisions are made. Rather than following trends or fixed methods, Clive uses proven techniques supported by scientific understanding, while continually evaluating and refining his own skills, techniques and the products he uses.

His philosophy is simple: never stop learning, and never stop asking why.
