Join the Hoof Mastery Team for in person, hands-on education
Experienced professionals dedicated to sharing a lifetime of knowledge.

Date: To be announced
Places: Limited - Expressions of interest now welcome
Following the success of our first Hoof Mastery Live event, we're delighted to be exploring a new opportunity to bring practical, hands-on hoof-care education to a small group of enthusiastic learners.
Led by Clive Rainger RSS BII CLS, accompanied by Dave Nicholls BEM AWCF, and Bobby Craig DipWFC, this workshop will focus on the principles of hoof assessment, mapping and trimming, using equine cadaver limbs to provide a valuable opportunity to study the hoof in detail and put theory into practice.
Participants will explore the anatomical landmarks used in hoof mapping, learn how these relate to trimming decisions and gain a better understanding of the relationship between hoof form, function and balance.
With an emphasis on practical learning, observation and open discussion, the day will offer opportunities to ask questions, examine different approaches and benefit from Clive's extensive experience.
Who is it for?
Farriers, barefoot trimmers, veterinary professionals, students and interested horse owners are all welcome. You don't need to be a hoof-care professional to attend, just have a genuine interest in understanding the equine foot.
We're currently assessing demand and finalising arrangements. Dates and further details will be announced in due course.
As this will be a small-group practical workshop, places will be strictly limited.
If you'd like to be among the first to receive details, please email by clicking below, including your name and whether you're a hoof-care professional, student or horse owner.
Registering your interest does not commit you to booking a place.

You asked us to bring Hoof Mastery Live further afield, and we've been listening!
Following considerable interest in our proposed practical hoof mapping and trimming workshops, we're exploring the possibility of holding a second event at a more central UK location.
This hands-on educational day would bring together experienced farriers, hoof-care practitioners, students and interested horse owners for an opportunity to explore the equine foot in greater depth.
Using equine cadaver limbs, participants will be introduced to hoof mapping techniques, anatomical landmarks, assessment principles and the reasoning behind different trimming approaches.
The emphasis will be on understanding why we do what we do, encouraging questions and creating an environment where knowledge and experience can be shared openly.
Whether you're an established professional looking to expand your knowledge, someone seeking further education or a horse owner who simply wants to understand their horse's feet better, we'd love to welcome you.

Following six years in the Household Cavalry, he went on to establish his own practice in Kent and has since shod and taught throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East and the USA.
Known for his progressive approach, Clive combines traditional craftsmanship with modern scientific understanding, continually refining his methods as new research and techniques emerge. He believes every horse should be assessed as an individual and that the best hoof care decisions come from careful observation, sound biomechanics and practical experience.
Inspired by clients who encouraged him to share his knowledge more widely,
Clive founded Hoof Mastery to make modern hoof care education accessible, practical and easy to understand for horse owners and equine professionals alike.
